Dan,

One of Dr. Y's phD students is looking at your post.

I know Dr. Y is ONE person in the world you respect. Maybe you could bring your REAL questions about the Bible to him.

You do realize that it was obviously sarcastic. I have no facts to back-up anything I said. I think my point is that you have never addressed the question of COUNTEREVIDENCE!!! Saying that these prophets predictions were fulfilled to the letter is absurd at best. I can guarantee that a large amount of counterevidence is also available to prove the fulfillments otherwise. And, just because Dr. Y is well respected doesn’t mean that he isn’t ultimately interested in proving his own beliefs, not disproving them. This brings back a memory I have from one of his classes – he read some scripture in some obscure lost language that nobody understood. Yeah, impressive that he could do this, but why would he show-off in front of the class like that? It didn’t teach us anything. I suspect that Dr. Y. is also searching for validity of his work and praise for his accomplishments due to his own insecurities. Oh, and by the way, Tracy and I met in his class, I bet prophet predicted that!

OK why don't you find me the counterevidence on a certain prophecy and we will discuss it.

The burden of proof is on theists! Prove something, state any proof to support your claims and I will work on the counterevidence. Why can't you provide some proof? Maybe you have never seen any proof and simply believe all of this at face value. And just so you know, my first bit of counterevidence is reality.

I just gave you 13 proofs. Pick one; the burden of disproof is on YOU!

I must admit that of all atheists you have the best sense of humor; most self-declared atheists have a pretty lousy one...Don't know why but maybe because they don't see anything funny about life since they think all just ends in a pileful of nothing.

You gave me someones conclusions, Which is no more valid than my absurd reply. Think of it as a math problem. You say you have the answer but you can't show me any of the work. How do you get from A to Z? Pick any one of your "proofs" and actually prove it. Just writing it down means nothing. I would particularlty like to see some proof, or even evidince on this 500 year old guy.

Thanks for your kind words on my sense of humor by the way. I thought it was some of my better work.

I assume you're talking about #10? That didn't talk about the guy living to be 500. You misread it completely. It meant he foretold of a family that would rebuild the city. Five centuries later, this man began reconstruction. The oldest son died when the reconstruction began, and the youngest died when it was finished.Hold on, I'll get the exact passage.

Joshua 26: Then Joshua charged them (Rahab, who was a hooker, and her family- Joshua spared those people for listening to God) at that time, saying, "Cursed be the man before the Lord who rises upand builds this city Jericho he shall lay its foundation with his firstborn, and with his youngest heshall set upi ts gates (gates being the last thing you'd build if you're building a city).

Hold on...

Fulfillment of that prophecy:
In his days (days of the reign of the evil king Ahab) Hiel of Bethel build Jericho. He laid its foundation with Abiram his firstborn, and with his youngest son Segub he set up its gates, according to the world of the Lord, which He had spoken through Joshua the son of Nun. 1 Kings 16:34.
Do you want me to go online and get the archaeaological evidence for the destruction and rebuilding of Jericho at those exact times- evvidence of Joshua living when he did and Hiel living when HE did...and the carbon dating of the Biblical texts which dates the later text 500 years later than the earlier...
